Turks Jeeps

Island guide

Long Bay

Kite country, shallow water for miles, and home turf.

On the southeast shore of Provo, Long Bay is a long, shallow sweep of sand where the trade winds blow steady. It is where the kites fly, and it is right on our doorstep in Long Bay Hills.

The drive

Paved roads most of the way, then a short run to one of the public beach accesses. Easy, and close to most villas on this side of the island.

When to go

Afternoons bring the wind and the kites, which are fun to watch even if you never leave the sand. Mornings are calmer if you just want to wade.

What to bring

Shade and plenty of water. The beach is wide open, and the shallows go out a long way.

Good to know

Want to learn to kite? There are schools right on the beach. Ask us when you pick up the Jeep.
